About the project

SAVE OUR PUB!

The owners of The Plough public house have decided to put the property up for sale.  For most of January 2012, the pub has been in darkness. Thankfully a temporary landlord has been found – but closure remains likely unless purchased by another pub company. If the council grant a change-of-use then Great Haseley could be without a pub for the first time in 800 years.

THE ACTION GROUP

The people of Great Haseley, Little Haseley and the surrounding area are passionate about saving this community asset and have formed an action group to raise funds to buy the property. The Haseley Pub Company Limited has now been incorporated and directors have been appointed. Initial conversations with the property agents have begun and will continue through the rest of February.

Our Mission:  To retain the Plough as a pub & restaurant and use the increased margins offered by  free-house status to help build a long-term viable business.

WHAT HAS BEEN ACHIEVED?

In the first 2 days of the campaign, the action group received pledges for nearly £150,000. The total continues to grow each day.

One Response so far.
