Our pub is saved!!

18th May 2012. Great News! The Haseley Pub Company Ltd has completed on the sale of the pub. The Plough now belongs to the village. £395,000 has been raised by the village so far, just £5,000 short of our target of £400,000. There is still hope that we may be able to reach our target.

There will be a shareholders meeting in the Village Hall, Great Haseley at 6pm on Sunday 27th May 2012. The purpose of the meeting will be to update shareholders on the financial position of the Company and on the status of repairs and improvements to the Plough.

THE ACTION GROUP

The Haseley Pub Company Ltd has been incorporated. Conversations with the agents are progress well and contracts are being prepared for purchase. It is expected that information on the financial position of the Company and on the purchase of the Plough will be sent to all investors in late April. Once the purchase is complete, the plan is to secure the services of a landlord, perform some much need refurbishments and then restore the pub to its former glory.

WHAT HAS BEEN ACHIEVED?

The planning committee is doing a sterling job in identifying the village’s needs and requirements for the pub, and it is in the final stages of preparing its recommendations for the Directors If you have any further useful ideas or comments regarding the pub, please contact Alex Wilson by e-mail (alex.2.wilson@btinternet.com) The majority of payments have now been received for which the Directors of the Company are very grateful. We are only £5k away from our target!

WHAT CAN I DO?

VISIT THE PUB! We are well on the way to secure the ownership of the pub - but we still need the community to use the pub as much as possible. Our new landlord has regular events on each week - check out the blackboard by the entrance.
